Project Intro
TAO Chu,a junior of Sichuan International Studies University, have participated a volunteer program run by ISCO (Indonesia Street Children Organization) in May 2009 via AIESEC CQU. She taught classes to children living in slum conditions, hoping to plant curiosity and visions of the future to them.
In this duration,She visited her students’ homes to assess how to integrate ISCO-specific educational programs. Despite her limited Indonesian, she was touched and motivated by their hospitality. However, the extreme poverty in which the people lived totally shocked her. Most parents barely made a living by collecting rubbish.
TAO tried to help. She felt education would be the best way to do so. Therefore, she planned to raise funds for supplying reading materials .TAO preserved ISCO children’s innocent faces with her camera and her heart. After going back to China, She initiated a charitable project, Children of Tomorrow, with CQU AIESECers and friends to raise funds.
We will sell postcards made of TAO’s photos of ISCO children. To eliminate public skepticism,we wrote this blog that updates our process and published the blog address on the backs of the postcards.
Project Goal
·Raise funds for ISCO children to supply material purchases
·Recruit voulunteers for ISCO, build a link with ISCO
Supervision of raised fund
·Publish details on peoject blog after termination (bank transfer and ISCO purchase list)
·This blog is published on the back of every postcard
